Prof. Dr. Marjan Peeters, Professor of Environmental Policy and Law, Maastricht University will be giving a lecture at the University of Eastern Finland on EU climate law on 13 February.
The lecture will give an outline of EU climate law and policy, including its 2020 and 2030 targets. This is followed by an introduction to the main pieces of EU climate and energy legislation, including the EU emissions trading system (ETS), and with a discussion of complementary regulatory approaches such as the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action Regulation, and the Renewable Energy Directive.
